Mr. Barnes completed a Jazz arrangement of the Bruno Mars hit, "24 Karat Magic," which was featured during the Oakcrest High School Jazz Band performance on May 12, 2017. The performance was part of the annual Spring Concert, and song arrangements by the other Jazz Band students were also featured.
The Director of Choirs, Richard T. Tinsley II, performed vocals while Mr. Barnes played the drum set. Mr. Barnes' peers in the Jazz Band played flute, trumpet, and saxophone while the Director of Bands, Richard Schwartz, performed on trumpet and another staff at the High School performed on the piano.
